The Mart
Sunlight finds its way through the tall buildings on Wacker Drive to fall upon the bridge tender's tower. Chicago's massive Merchandise Mart, however, is the subject. I hoped to capture the feeling of this enormous building relative to the riverfront area on this clear August morning. The sepia tone of the image seems to take one's mind back in time to prosperous days of the "roaring 20's" when it was conceived and built by the Marshall Field Company. It was completed in 1930, six months into the Great Depression. Here

Please be aware that the actual print will vary somewhat in color, tint, and contrast from the image you see on your monitor. A variety of factors cause this; among those factors is monitor calibration and the fact that a monitor projects light where a print reflects light. Your purchase is guaranteed to please you or you may return it for a refund.
