Fishing Buddies
| Two boys, not caring at all about the busy world, fish along the Fox River at Island Park in Geneva, IL during one of the summers of their youth. With soggy gym shoes they slogged through the shallow water to take a position near the water flowing into the main river from under the little limestone bridge. Light rain had no affect upon their enthusiasm as they dug with bare hands for live bait hiding under submerged rocks. Triumphantly, they would wave the captured bait above their heads. Periodically, they shared a cigarette from their stash in a backpack that one of them carried. The young fishermen had not a noticeable care in the world, as did not the Mallard ducks resting in the foreground. |
