Stone Bridge
Island Park, Geneva, IL
How many bicycle wheels and foot steps have crossed this bridge since it was built in 1937? Fog can be like misty memories. For anyone who lived in the Fox River Valley during the Great Depression, this bridge in fog may remind them of those days of trial. It was built by men who were grateful to be sweating out a day's pay. Their employer was the Public Works Administration. The sounds of their labor, echoing along the river and now lost in time, were hammers and chisels, winches and wheels, rather than the buzz if electric power saws and the clatter of diesel engines. This print, retitled "The Bridge in the Dream", was merited and accepted into the General Collection at Professional Photographers Association International Print Competition 2006.

Please be aware that the actual print will vary somewhat in color, tint, and contrast from the image you see on your monitor. A variety of factors cause this; among those factors is monitor calibration and the fact that a monitor projects light where a print reflects light.
