Windmill in Mist
In print competition, this image was accepted into the 2003 LOAN COLLECTION of the Associated Professional Photographers of Illinois. Later in the year, it was accepted into the Professional Photographers of America 2003 General Exhibition in international print competition. The exhibition was held in Las Vegas, NV. Described as one of the most unique windmills in the world, this structure appeared on a U.S. postage stamp in the 1980's. It was constructed in the Elmhurst, IL area in the 1840's. Col. Fabyan arranged for it to be moved from there to his property on the Fox River in Geneva, IL around 1914. As a working bakery, it had living quarters for a miller and produced flour and baked bread until the 1940's. The windmill and all of Col. Fabyan's property is owned by the Kane County Forest Preserve District. In 2000 the Forest Preserve started an extensive renovation project for the aging landmark. |

Please be aware that the actual print will vary somewhat in color, tint, and contrast from the image you see on your monitor. A variety of factors cause this; among those factors is monitor calibration and the fact that a monitor projects light where a print reflects light. Your purchase is guaranteed to please you or you may return it for a refund.
