Century Corners
St. Charles, IL
Century Corners at North 2nd and Cedar Avenues in St. Charles is a beautifully restored historic area near the downtown area. This is now Townhouse Books and Cafe'. The building in the background was built in 1853 by Orrin Webster. He sold it in 1865 to Clinton and Margaret Wing. The Wings, originally from Vermont, became leaders in St. Charles. Clinton was involved in real estate, lumber, a member of the School Board, and was mayor 1877-1879. He was also instrumental in bringing the Great Western Railroad through St. Charles. Please be aware that the actual print will vary somewhat in color, tint, and contrast from the image you see on your monitor. A variety of factors cause this; among those factors is monitor calibration and the fact that a monitor projects light where a print reflects light. Your purchase is guaranteed to please you or you may return it for a refund.
