Willows Reflecting
In July 2002 at the Professional Photographers of America international print judging held in Atlantic City, NJ , this image was entered into the GENERAL COLLECTION. During the warm weather months Pottawatomie Park, located on the Fox River in St. Charles, IL is bustling with visitors. I remember a family/neighbor picnic here when I was a boy in the late 1950's and had no idea that I would move to this valley as an adult and photograph it. This quiet moment occurred in February when unusually warm moist air met the cold earth and fog formed. The air was still. Some ducks were quietly paddling nearby. Sounds from the business district were muffled. The old pavilion, seen between the second and third trees, has been torn down and was replaced with a much larger structure. |
