Old Barn

On this late spring day the grass was already high and sweet. The sun was strong and warm, but the air was swift, cool, and moist. The summer sun seemed to be politely yielding to a season that was reluctant to leave. Old barns are a sentimental remnant of the American family farm. They make us think of simple days when life seemed pleasantly structured, predictable, and paced. This barn has had the time to become comfortably nestled into the land. It is located east of Geneva, IL. I took the liberty of placing it in the Rural Kane County Collection, but it is located about a mile east of the county line. |
