Shooting France and Italy
Brian DeWolf, in cooperation with Croissy sans Frontiers and Geneva, Illinois' International Cultural Exchange Committee, visited France September 2008. Both organizations promote the development of international relationships in their respective areas, the Fox River Valley in Geneva and the "land of the Impressionist painters" in Croissy sur Seine, France. In a continuing project, Brian will photograph these valleys as a means of showing the beauty and culture of each. Look for new images in the Other Lands Gallery.
After photographing in France Brian visited with a good friend in Naples Italy. Lt. Commander (retired) John Owens grew up on Summit St. in Wheaton with Brian. John is now contracted by the Department of Defense to instruct foreign governments in oil spill prevention and clean up. While on active duty he served on the battleship USS New Jersey and other great ships. |

Eleven delegates from Croissy sur Seine and about 60 local citizens dined

Assignment:
France
Representatives
of the Geneva, IL International Cultural Exchange Committee (ICEC) and
representatives of Croissy sur Seine, France invited Brian to photograph
Croissy as an initial step in developing an artist exchange program. Croissy
is one of the areas of the Seine River frequented and painted by impressionists
Claude Monet and Pierre Renoir and is called “the land of the impressionists”.
The
two cities believe the“twinning” project will be enhanced
by DeWolf’s photography and that they will then be portrayed in
the same style. This
is an effort to bring art cultures together and "make art a celebration".
He visited Croissy in September 2007.Brian and his wife, Sue, were accompanied
to Croissy sur Seine by Ernie Mahaffey and John Ford, representatives
of Geneva's ICEC. Here is a link to Croissy's web page that shows pictures
